Do we respect our own languages?

It may seem like quiet season on the site at the moment, but this is due to me working on more in-depth posts that require more research.
 
One of these is entitled Do we respect our own languages?, which I wrote as a guest post for the Greek translation company, Lingua Greca. This series focuses on the views of speakers - linguists or not -regarding their native language. Can one be proud to speak a certain language?
